The curriculum at GCS is designed for the average student to produce above average results. Our format is a traditional classroom instruction by a qualified teacher. GCS primarily uses curriculum materials from A BEKA and Bob Jones University Press.
Kindergarten students learn and use phonics, numbers, cursive writing, simple arithmetic and Bible verses.
Elementary students learn in an environment that includes high academic standards and structured discipline. Field trips, fine arts competitions, and play time at recess round out the student's experience.
Junior high students enter the world of changing classes and lockers. During these years of change they take classes in Bible, history, English, science, math, and physical education.
During the high school years, students are taught a curriculum which prepares them for post-secondary education. Students are challenged to use higher cognitive skills in a variety of required and elective courses. Courses include Bible, English, history (World and US), government, economics, geography, science (biology, physical science, chemistry, and physics), mathematics (Algebra I & II, Geometry, Precalculus), physical education, computer applications, and others. |
